The relocation project of Weihai Jinhong Group Co., Ltd. is located within the Plastic Additives Chemical Park in Lingang District, with a total investment of 630 million yuan and a total construction area of approximately 80,000 square meters. The project will introduce new production lines for acrylic ester polymers (ACR), methyl methacrylate-styrene-butadiene terpolymer (MBS), and acrylic ester latex (STEP). Once fully operational, the annual main business income is expected to reach 1.72 billion yuan.

Recently, the reporter visited the construction site of the new factory project of Jinhong Group. Only to see the main buildings such as the administrative building, laboratory, and production workshop have already been erected. The pipelines for steam transportation are winding and "walking" in the air. The road hardening and greening projects are steadily progressing... The entire project has begun to take shape.
"Relocating the entire family" is necessary for the development of Jinhong Group. In recent years, with the gradual expansion of Jinhong Group's market share and steady growth in orders, the production capacity of the old factory area cannot meet the actual production needs. Therefore, Jinhong Group has launched a relocation project and "settled" in the Plastic Additives Chemical Park in Lingang District.
The new factory area is planned to construct five production workshops, which not only expands the scale of the existing production lines but also introduces eight new production lines for acrylic ester polymers (ACR), methyl methacrylate-styrene-butadiene terpolymers (MBS), and other products. Currently, the workshops are undergoing interior decoration and the installation and commissioning of production equipment.
Among the five newly built production workshops, the one that Jin Hong Group is most proud of is Workshop 2, which faces the main entrance of the factory. "The high-end MBS product that we have developed over five years, integrating high impact resistance, high melt index, low odor, and other properties, will 'come off' the production line from here next year," said Xu Dongguo, Chairman of Jin Hong Group.
MBS is an industrial additive that resembles monosodium glutamate (MSG) in appearance. In the past, the production technology was controlled by foreign companies. After breaking through this "bottleneck" of key core technology, Jin Hong Group has developed high-end MBS products that can significantly enhance the performance of ordinary alloys, meeting the accessory standards for national heavy equipment such as the C919 large aircraft and high-speed maglev trains.
Upon entering Workshop 2, the reporter saw nearly 10 reaction vessels of various sizes, which protruded through the two-story floor and "stuck their heads out" on the third floor. Workers were holding welding equipment to install supporting devices for the reaction vessels. Currently, the installation progress of the workshop production line has reached 60%.
Research and development is challenging, and production is even more so. In order to make the leap from the "laboratory" to the "production line", Jinhong Group embarked on the early development and design of an MBS production line. "From a few milligrams in the laboratory to tens of thousands of tons on the production line, consistency is required for key variables such as temperature and dosage," said Xu Dongguo.
To this end, Jinhong Group invited a well-known domestic design institute to repeatedly liaise with the R&D team, discussing variables in each reaction stage, ranging from the precision of the valves on the reaction kettle to the routing of the pipelines leading to the reaction kettle... A typical production line can be designed in just three months, but this high-end MBS product production line took half a year to complete. "According to the current progress, workshop 2 is expected to be ready for trial production next year, and the annual production capacity of high-end MBS products will reach 15,000 tons," said Xu Dongguo.
For Jinhong Group, next year will be a year of "full bloom", not only for Workshop 2, but also for the production lines of the other four workshops, which are expected to bring an annual sales revenue of 1 billion yuan to Jinhong Group.
